Happy 100 Days of School

January 28, 2013

Dear Parents and Students,

Our 100th day of school is on Friday, February 1st!

Homework for this week is to bring a collection of 100 items to school.  Collections can be made of beans, pennies, stickers, macaroni, sports cards, beads, toothpicks, or any other small items.  The “process” is what is important in this project.   Have your child count the objects by ones, in groups of five, and in groups of ten. Please have your child glue their collection on a piece of cardboard or bring their collection to school in a plastic bag.

All 100 Day collections are due at school no later than Friday, February 1st. We will share our projects and do other 100 activities on that day to celebrate this special day!

Months of the Year

Dear Parents,

We will be studying about the months of the year and working on reviewing the high frequency words, the letter names and their sounds. We will work on blending and segmenting words as well as writing proper sentences. We will also review the SIPPS Charts. I hope that your child has practiced these topics during the vacation.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Black
