Christmas lights

Dear Parents,

As we begin this last week of school before vacation, I’d like to take the time to wish you all a very happy holiday. Enjoy this time with your child and please remember to practice writing daily. Remember to practice reading charts. Review the letters and their sounds and work on memorizing the word flashcards. Work on the number cards and the value of 1-30. I hope that your child will be working up to his/her potential when we come back to school on Tuesday, January 15th.

I am blessed with such wonderful students this year! I wish all of you a very wonderful holiday and much happiness in 2013!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Black

Christmas lights

Dear Parents,

We have been very busy these days doing many holiday projects. The children have made their holiday wreaths and laced up their Christmas stockings. Please feel free to come by and see the holiday projects that decorate our room.

We continue to study the letters and their sounds. Please use flashcards at home to practice. The children are making many holiday books and they are busy learning to read and memorize their holiday poems. Please ask your child to read his/her book to you as they are sent home. I am so proud of their hard work and I know that you are too.

We will study the “Gingerbread Man” story this week. We will read many versions of the story including “The Gingerbread Baby”. We will look at the similarities and differences in the stories. The children will learn to compare and contrast the various stories. Ask your child to tell you all about the stories.

Congratulations to Samantha for being our “Citizen of the Month”!

I am looking forward to our conference time. Remember that school gets at 12:55 from December 7th-14th for conferences.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Black
